Hunt Preparation

A regular fit condition is necessary for a hunt in the Mackenzie Mountains. Our helicopter helps you eliminate strenuous travel and will make your hunt more efficient and special!

What physical condition does hunting in the Mackenzie Mountains of northern Canada require? Everybody who is in regular and healthy shape – both physically and mentally – and who can shoot straight, will have the opportunity to harvest respectable trophies with us. Expect different shooting distances from 50 to 300 yards.

Most of your hunting will be done in day hikes. Be prepared to hike, walk uphill, climb, glass, spot, stalk, walk over rocks on Dall sheep hunts or through boggy forests on moose hunts, up and down mountains. Dall sheep and mountain goat hunts are very physical.

Our helicopter, however, will lift you from base camp to a prime game area, eliminating strenuous travel into the actual hunting location, making your hunt easier, faster, and more efficient.

Together with your guide you establish a spike camp of small backpacker tents; not right beside the game you are seeking, but within hiking distance. Camping spots are determined by water sources, landing possibilities for the helicopter and the availability of game.

Keep in mind that nights can get cold and that weather conditions can change quickly. A detailed equipment list will be sent to you upon booking.
